You’ve seen the destruction and suffering vividly portrayed by TV coverage. Much of Haiti is in ruins. All Haitians need assistance. Appeals for relief have been received by the Masonic Service Association of North America to help those that are suffering. How can we in Michigan help?

Come to the Freemasons Haiti Relief Party at Zal Gaz Grotto on Friday, January 29th at 7:30PM. It will be an evening where all all Masons, their friends, families, loved ones and general public can meet, have a blast, and raise donations for those affected by this disaster.

Admission is FREE! If possible, please bring an optional monetary donation that you are comfortable with. Even if you can’t donate, we’d love to see you.

Greetings Prophets and Brothers!

It’s November and its cold. Come on down to the Grotto and warm up with the spirit of camaraderie that prevails at the club.

As always we have a number of scheduled events. We have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Wednesday, November 4th. We have dinners on Friday the 13th and Friday the 27th. Our all-you-can-eat breakfast is on Sunday the 15th. We also have our next Saurkraut Supper on November 18th. You can always come down on Saturdays and cheer on your favorite college football teams.

We hope to see you soon at the Grotto. We are open Monday through Saturday at 4:00PM (or earlier if you see Pat Tessmer’s white truck in the parking lot).

Fraternally yours,
Jim ”Turk” Turkington

Greetings, Prophets and Brethren!

We have made a few minor changes to the website – and now feel that the calendar will be more up-to-date as a result.  All regularly scheduled events have been noted.  Please be sure to e-mail the webmaster for events that you would like to have added to the calendar that are not already there.

Thanks!

It looks like spring is around the corner.  As the weather improves and we all get out and around more, remember to come down and enjoy the camaraderie at the Grotto. All Masons and their friends are welcome.

In March we will have the spaghetti dinner on Wednesday the 4th.  Our Friday frys will be on the 13th and the 27th.  The “all you can eat breakfast,” will be on Sunday the 15th.  We have other events from time to time, so check with the club at 734-663-1202 after 4 pm.

Don’t forget we need volunteers for the events we put on.  Volunteering is good for the club  and makes you feel good too!

Sincerely,
Jim “Turk” Turkington

Greetings, Prophets and Brothers,

We had a fine installation of officers for this year on January 3rd, followed by the Monarch’s Ball.  It is good to see some new blood and younger members becoming active in the Grotto.  Many thanks to outgoing Monarch Rick Wresche for all his help.  Also, kudos to all the members and friends of the Grotto who so generously volunteer to help keep our club going.  We have fun at the Grotto and we do community and charitable work.  All Masons and their friends are welcome at the Grotto.  So everybody, COME ON DOWN!

In February we will have a spaghetti dinner on the 4th.  We will have our “All You Can Eat” breakfast on the 15th.  Our Friday Frys will be on the 13th and the 27th.  Our Friday Fry is not just fish and chips, we always have several menu choices – not just fish.  All dinners are a value to consider in these difficult economic times.

We always can use more help for the events that we put on for the betterment of the club, so sign up when you can.

Sincerely,
Jim “Turk” Turkington

Greetings Prophets and Brothers,

We brought in another prophet on Wednesday, Zoran Petrovic.  The November meeting should also see us welcome in more new prophets.  The Fall Ceremonial has been changed to November 22nd Frank will be contacting you to give you a part or you can call him and volunteer.

October is going to be a busy month at the Grotto.  We have the usual Fries on the 10th and the 24th.  Breakfast on the 19th and a Sauerkraut supper on the 29th.  On Saturday the 25th we will have a tailgate party in conjunction with Naylor Chrysler Jeep we will need volunteers to bring visitors into the Grotto show them around and answer any questions they may have about what we do at the Grotto.  If you cannot make it down before game time, than come on down later to watch the game on the big screen.

It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of my year as Monarch.  It has been a good year, I would have liked to have seen more participation in the various Grotto activities by the prophets. I hope that we continue to grow in membership but also increase our overall participation in the club and it’s activities.

In good fellowship,
Rick Wresche

Greetings Prophets and Brothers,

The second football game is history and we are preparing to turn the lights on at the Lodge.  Our next business meeting is Wednesday, October 8th at 7:30 pm.

This fall we should be welcoming several new prophets into the realm.  The Fall Ceremonial is coming up, and we will need volunteers for the Play as well as help with dinner, see either myself or Frank Pope to volunteer.

The month of September was busy with the usual Friday Fries, Breakfast and Sauerkraut Dinner and we also had a Law Enforcement Dinner on Thursday the 25th.  This month we will have our Friday Fries on the 10th and the 24th.  The breakfast is on the 19th.  We have a Sauerkraut dinner on Wednesday the  22nd.   See the sign-up sheets on the door to the kitchen to sign up to help. Remember the Grotto is open on Saturdays during U of M football games so come on down and sit a spell.

In good fellowship,
Rick Wresche
